What a day of celebration for the launch of Streets on a Map.

People happily mingled , enjoying a drink, sampling the array of food and getting their copies of Streets on a Map signed.

Irene Wilkie, from Kitchen Table Poets and Shoalhaven FAW, gave a short history of my writing to date before introducing me.

Then it was my chance to thank everyone, and there were lots of people to thank, for their help on the day and prior to the day and acknowledging support from the South Coast Writers Centre for the launch. After this I talked about the writing of Streets on a Map and the inspiration behind the character Abby.

This was followed by a rendition by Deb Soncum, accompanied by a young musician, Dave, on the drums. Deb sang two songs Abby would have sung in Streets on a Map.

After the musical interlude, I came back and read a little from Streets on a Map - just enough to whet the appetite of those listening and leave them wanting to know who started the fire and what exactly was on fire.

My husband then wrapped up the afternoon, leaving people free to purchase copies of Streets on a Map, get another drink or something to eat and continue to chat.
